8U Softball Brings Home the Title!

Mia W. A Difficult Out As Villa Park Bandits 8U Softball team Defeat Schaumburg Team Rysary

Mia W. collected three hits in three at bats, as the Villa Park Bandits 8U Softball defeated Schaumburg team Rysary 20-14 on Friday at Mccaslin Park. Mia singled in the first inning, singled in the fourth inning, and singled in the third inning.

Both offenses were strong at the plate as Villa Park 8U Softball collected 34 hits and Schaumburg team Rysary 28 in the high-scoring affair.

A single put Schaumburg on the board in the top of the first.

In the bottom of the first inning, Villa Park went back into the lead after Mia singled, Maggie M. singled, Jean V. singled, and Amelia G. hit into a fielder's choice, each scoring one run.

The Villa Park Bandits added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Evelyn C. doubled, Kennedy P. singled, Sloane S. singled, and Madeline D. singled, each scoring one run.

The Bandits extended their early lead with four runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Maggie, Amelia, Franklynn, and Evelyn.

Schaumburg scored five runs on seven hits in the top of the sixth inning.

Evelyn stepped on the bump first for Villa Park. The starting pitcher allowed three hits and one run over one inning, striking out one and walking none. Mia, Jean, Madeline, Kennedy, and Sloane each appeared in relief for the VP Bandits.

The Bandits piled up 34 hits in the game. Franklynn, Mia, Evelyn, Madeline, Kennedy, Maggie, and Ayla L. each collected three hits for VP. Evelyn went 3-for-3 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Amelia, Madelyn P., Jean, Avery K., Leona S., and Sloane each collected multiple hits for Villa Park. The Bandits were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Ayla made the most plays with five.

Schaumburg collected 28 hits in the game but that wasn't enough to compete with Villa Park's 34 total smacks to win the game.
